20. Those efficiency studies met evaluation requirements and were in most instances superior to conventional self evaluations.

However, it would serve the purpose of effective follow up, monitoring and evaluation if the General Assembly were to consider the implementation of the New Agenda one more time before the final review and appraisal.

In future, the Inspection and Evaluation Service will continue to systematically review, categorize and analyse the observations and recommendations produced during every inspection mission.

13. Follow up of evaluation recommendations Evaluation follow up has been greatly facilitated by the completion of the IES database mentioned above.

Enhancing intergovernmental review of monitoring and evaluation reports

It was suggested that the findings could be integrated into the policy review.

11.1 The programme was established following the final review and appraisal of the United Nations New Agenda for the Development of Africa in the 1990s.

In some instances, staff members with expertise in the area under evaluation were seconded to the Inspection and Evaluation Service and led the evaluation exercise.

Those reviews are followed by needs analysis and evaluation of established post requirements, reporting and corrective action.

The Committee for Programme and Coordination receives a triennial review three years after adopting its decisions on the evaluation.

Those proposals were subsequently evaluated by a joint United Nations ESA review panel in July 1998.

The evaluation report provided critical input to the MTR.

Agreement had been reached between MINUSTAH and UNDP Haiti on the integration of law programmes and the modalities were being worked out.

It has been the practice of the Expanded Bureau to conduct periodic reviews and evaluations of the Fund's operations, which in turn are used to inform the COP.

Having reviewed the positive findings of the desk evaluation report of Phase 1 of the survey and evaluation of existing networks to support the implementation of the Convention,
