The Federal Act on archaeological, artistic and historic monuments and sites, in existence since May 1972, and its Regulations govern research into and the conservation, protection and restoration of the cultural heritage of social and national interest, comprising the archaeological, artistic and historic monuments and the monument complexes belonging to each one.
