Parliamentary workshops were organized at the third session of the Preparatory Committee for the Summit and at the Social Summit in Copenhagen.

In that connection, the Committee will select, at its organization meeting, under agenda item 2, the JIU report(s) that will be considered by the Committee at its forty fifth session under agenda item 6.

While women had held 6.9 per cent of parliamentary seats in the fifth parliament, they held 12 per cent of seats in the twelfth parliament.

The first option would consist in considering master plans during sessions of the Commission, in either the plenary or the Committee of the Whole.

Two conference sessions under the aegis of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) have been held in the period between the fourth and fifth sessions of the Forum.
