The review of trust funds is being undertaken and it is expected that there will be a consolidation of some trust funds and the closure of others.

Article 37 During the reporting period, the Company shall make disclosure of information on the promotion and establishment of funds, and make disclosure of the name of funds set up during the reporting period by fund category (like open end equity fund, hybrid fund, bond fund, money market fund and guaranteed fund, etc.).

The international arrangement on forests could also provide access to new funding mechanisms, including more explicit recognition and direct access to funds such as the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

Indeed, aggregate cash available in the General Fund, the Working Capital Fund and the Special Account are expected to be over 100 million higher than at the end of 2004.

Reserves and fund balances available for programme activities amounted to 115 million (reserves and fund balances for the Working Capital and Guarantee Fund and the Annual and Supplementary Programme Funds). This represents barely six weeks of expenditure for the organization and reflects the delicate balance between operational needs and availability of funds.

In the case of UNDP, the other elements are cost sharing, funds and trust funds, government cash counterpart contributions, contributions to local office costs, extrabudgetary activities and management services agreements.

The Pension Fund indicates that it is looking for a comparable pension fund and will review the practices of other pension funds.
