The Inter Agency Procurement Working Group (IAPWG)

NGO Working Group on Girls, New York and Geneva ECE Working Group on Women Workin Group on Environment Working Group on Health Human Rights Working Group on Refugees Working Group on Traditional Practices Working Group on Nutrition all held Geneva.

The Chairperson of the group indicated that the group was recommending that this practice also be adopted as a normal practice of pre session working groups.

The Subcommittee took note with appreciation of the report and of the work done in the working group.

The Preparatory Committee took note of the reports of the Working Group on Definitions and Elements of Crimes, the Working Group on General Principles of Criminal Law, the Working Group on Procedural Matters, the Working Group on International Cooperation and Judicial Assistance and the Working Group on Penalties.

The working group concentrated its discussions on several themes focusing on the future of the working group.

The Working Group on the long term programme of work was reconstituted with Mr. Pellet as Chairman.

The Chairman of the Working Group of the United Nations Decade on International Law reported on the results of the work of the Working Group.

WORKING GROUP

Four intersessional working groups met before the forty ninth session the Working Group on Communications, the Working Group on Indigenous Populations, the Working Group on Minorities and the Working Group on Contemporary Forms of Slavery.

Stresses the importance of the work of the Working Group, and encourages it to pursue the execution of its mandate

(a) To promote and give full effect to the Declaration on the Protection of All Persons against Enforced Disappearance

The work of the Subcommittee is carried out in three working groups, respectively entitled Follow up on Convention 159, Promotion of Self Employment and Rehabilitation for Employment.

C. Future work of the Working Group of the Whole

The Working Group may wish to follow the practice of previous sessions whereby the Vice President presiding over the Working Group would serve as its Chairman cum Rapporteur.

In addition to the above mentioned working groups, the Sub Commission established sessional working groups on the administration of justice and on its methods of work.

It would also be useful to establish a special working group of the Committee, similar to its Working Group on Diplomatic Indebtedness.
