The Committee commends the establishment of an Advisory Commission on Human Rights, a Complaints Office within the Permanent Special Commission against Racial Discrimination, advisory commissions for foreigners in the communes, and the appointment of an ombudsman.

This proposal will be subject to the approval of the Permanent Finance Committee.

30.8 Under article 21, paragraph 2, of the statute of ICSC, a provision is made for the inclusion of the ICSC budget in the regular budget of the United Nations.

MEMBERSHIP AND OFFICERS OF THE HUMAN RIGHTS COMMITTEE, 2004 2005

4. Takes note of the Board's approval of the terms of reference for the Committee of Actuaries, and notes that the Standing Committee of the Board will consider in 2005 provisions that would allow for the possible appointment of ad hoc members to the Committee of Actuaries

During the past four years FAFICS has participated in all sessions of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Board, the Standing Committee of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Board as well as the several special Working Groups that were established by the UN Pension Board.

They presented useful examples of best practices and highlighted some general problems related to implementation of sanctions.

The Committee recommends that the State party

The Committee puts great emphasis on its responsibility to provide the Counter Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate with policy guidance in line with Council resolution 1535 (2004) in order to enable the Executive Directorate to fulfil its mandate to assist the Committee in its work.
