During the visit of the Special Rapporteur on freedom of opinion and expression, UNIC Tehran organized a meeting with representatives of Reuters, Kyodo, AFP and the Italian News Agency.

The work of IPS is organized along two main lines of activity the IPS news agency and IPS projects.

The Code of Ethics for Journalists, which includes the principles of the Professional Ethics and Social Responsibility of journalists members of the Journalists' Union of the Athens Daily Newspapers (E.S.I.E.A. ), inter alia, provides the following

Through Associated Press Television News, one of the largest television news agencies, the United Nations is now broadcasting 10 minutes of programming, five days a week, to over 500 Associated Press Television News' subscribers.

The IPS news network covers over 100 countries, and the service is distributed daily in seven languages and regularly in 10 others to media, civil society and the international community.

Last year, Putin reorganized the RIA Novosti news agency, firing 40 of its staff, including its relatively independent management. The agency s new leader, Dmitry Kiselyov, announced in November the creation of Sputnik, a government funded network of news hubs in 34 countries, with 1,000 staff members producing radio, social media, and news wire content in local languages.
