The following is a brief description of the projects approved in 1996.

In November 2004 the GEF council approved the project and the provision of funds for full project implementation through UNEP.

Approximately 215 million of planned new construction investment was approved in 1996.

Other projects, which were approved by the Judea and Samaria (West Bank) Planning Committee, were awaiting authorization by the Minister.

The Agreement, which requires ratification by 10 States to enter into force, has so far been ratified by Norway.

A possible denial of final approval to the project, or of another licence without which the project cannot be carried out, would have even greater consequences for the project sponsors.
