The OSCE has the Forum for Security Cooperation, which is the keeper of disarmament treaties and confidence building measures.

It has been used as a model for a similar reporting instrument introduced by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), which is seen as one of a number of confidence building measures that have helped reduce tensions among OSCE member States.

The Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) of IMO, in an effort to address a number of practical problems which have arisen either during the stage of the initial implementation of the special measures to enhance maritime security or following their entry into force as a result of the approach a taken by a number of States which are SOLAS Contracting Government, has adopted a number of performance standards, recommendations and guidance notes.

The Secretary General has instituted several measures aimed at reforming the Organization, enhancing the safety of its staff, and making it more responsive to the entire membership.

The present section provides information on progress achieved in the development of new, and amendments to existing, conventions before focusing on the implementation of the maritime security measures in SOLAS and the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code and recent measures adopted by WCO.

In order to coordinate practical measures on strengthening the CSTO potential to fight terrorism and violent manifestations of extremism the CSTO Secretariat regularly holds meetings of heads of antiterrorist departments of the security services and of the ministries of the interior of the CSTO member states.
