Note 6. Administrative and programme support services

23.73 Programme support services are provided by the Administration and Management Service.

The United Nations Office for Project Services provides accounting and financial reporting services to the Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People.

Initiatives to address youth unemployment include tax incentives for companies to hire youth, financial assistance for self employment, job search centres, voluntary service programmes and training courses.

In 2004, the first voluntary post release support through a Community Re Entry programme was commenced, to assist in the coordination of service delivery, including the provision of transitional accommodation and support, a justice mediation service, drug alcohol management, family relationship services and mental health issues.

The representative(s) would also have the task of considering whether the programme of advisory services administered by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Centre for Human Rights could be of assistance in connection with the specific issue at hand.

In December, the United Nations launched a Consolidated Appeal for Assistance to Afghanistan seeking US 133 million for aid programmes to meet urgent needs and to provide essential services to the population.

A range of financial services is needed to address the issue and to support South South trade.

(a) The Employment Guidance Services for Women Programme (SOLAM) has been operating since 1994.

There is a need to identify and address the gender perspectives of trade liberalization in the service sector.

Changes were focused on making programs and services more client centred and on assisting clients to obtain long term sustainable employment.

E. Support services after case disposition

A review is in process to devise a permanent resolution.

In 2004, 43 percent of those receiving support services participated in educational or training programs.

General description Reducing poverty is a shared objective of the international community.

Instead, the solution lies in a more serious, more expert and more carefully targeted advisory services programme in relation to reporting.

Within the secretariat, the conference support subprogramme of CIS will be responsible for overseeing the provision of conference services.

The 70 Solution

In the field of employment, programmes of employment, training, and supplementary and supportive services have been implemented.

Convergence in social service provision also required strengthening the linkages and coordination of CBSS with other national programmes supported by UNICEF.

74. One activity which has been funded in the context of the advisory services programme is the organization of regional or subregional training courses in relation to reporting.

A solution to the issue of self determination should be pursued independently of the negotiations on the draft convention.
