There are 217 regular festivals classified as cultural.

These organizations have always been well represented in the celebration of special events, such as the International Day of the Woman, International Anti Violence Day, International Day of Action to Promote Women apos s Health, and other actions and demands taking place within the women apos s movement.

Food plays a central role in China s many major traditional festivals. Foreigners are enthusiastic about these festivals. The Spring Festival is the most important festival in both social and economic sense, and it is also one of the most enjoyable festivals for foreigners.

Egypt provided a description of activities involving workshops and national festivals pertinent to the International Year.

Organization of Easter and Christmas time for the lonely and the poorest under the charge of social welfare centres (Christmas Eve, the possibility to spend Christmas in a social welfare institution (house), packages, celebration of Santa Claus Day on 6 December for children, Child apos s Day, lotteries, etc.)
