Messrs Ferguson and Keating represented the ACSJC for the duration of the 59th Session of the U.N. Commission on Human Rights in Geneva (17 March to 15 April 2003).

The 59th General Assembly in November and December 2004 debated progress to date, producing a General Assembly TCPR resolution to guide United Nations operational activities for development over the next three years.

It is understood that the 59th Grammy Awards will be held on February 12, 2017 US local time (morning of February 13, Beijing time), and will be hosted by British comedian James Corden.

The General Assembly of the United Nations in its resolution 59 245 adopted at its 59th session emphasized the role of the international organizations for the full and effective implementation of the Almaty Programme of Action.

At the 59th meeting, on 20 April 2005, the representative of Ethiopia (on behalf of the States members of the African Group) introduced draft resolution E CN.4 2005 L.13 Rev.1, sponsored by Ethiopia (on behalf of the States members of the African Group).

The Commission considered agenda item 17 at its 48th meeting on 13 April 2005, at its 51st and 52nd meetings, on 15 April, at its 53rd and 54th meetings, on 18 April, at its 58th and 59th meetings, on 20 April and at its 60th meeting on 21 April.

In this regard, Malaysia had for the ninth consecutive year introduced a resolution on the International Court of Justice (ICJ) Advisory Opinion on the legality of the use and threat of nuclear weapons at the 59th Session of the General Assembly, which received overwhelming support from the majority of member States.

In 2003 and 2004, during the 58th and 59th UNGA sessions, at the request of the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See, she provided them with her summary reports of the Committee discussions about remittances, migration and development, and the human rights of migrants, as a basis for Mission input at the UN.

We know, from our own experience in the fields of human services, law, education, advocacy, research and academia, as well as from the welcome Report of the Secretary General to the 59th Session of the General Assembly (A 59 185) that trafficking in women and girls for sexual exploitation continues to escalate, requires specific attention, and is grounded in complex systems that present major challenges to our commitments to end gender violence and promote equality of women.
