Access to St. Helena is provided by the Royal Mail Ship St. Helena, which serves St. Helena, Ascension, Walvis Bay, Namibia, and Cape Town, South Africa.

The announcement by the Department for International Development of its agreement to fund the construction and operation of an international airport on St. Helena, following protracted consultations between the Department and the government of St. Helena, was welcomed in the Territory.
