The PRESIDENT I thank Mr. Román Morey for that information, and I now give the floor to our Secretary General.

Mr. ROMAN MOREY (Deputy Secretary General of the Conference) I would like to make a few remarks on the resources available to the Conference on Disarmament at its 2005 session.

I would also like to take this opportunity to greet the Secretary General of the CD and Personal Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations, Mr. Sergei Ordzhonikidze, as well as his deputy, Mr. Enrique Román Morey.

I shall now give the floor to the Deputy Secretary General of the Conference, Mr. Enrique Román Morey, to inform the members of the Conference about the organizational aspects of the 2005 session, as well as the resources allocated to the Conference.

I have already mentioned the Secretary General of the Conference, Mr. Sergei Ordzhonikidze, and I also mentioned specifically the Deputy Secretary General of the Conference, Mr. Enrique Román Morey, for their valuable assistance and support, which certainly facilitated discharging my duties as President.

In conclusion, I would like to extend my best wishes to Under Secretary General Abe, who is joining us today, to our Under Secretary General Ordzhonikidze, to Deputy Secretary General Román Morey, to our old friend Jerzy Zaleski, to the members of civil society who are following our statements from the public gallery today, and to all delegations, colleagues and friends in the CD.

This is the moment for me to assure you of the complete readiness and full cooperation of the delegation of Algeria in helping you to fulfil the task entrusted to you. I thank the Secretary General of the Conference, Mr. Sergei Ordzhonikidze, and Ambassador Enrique Román Morey, the Deputy Secretary General of the Conference, as well as all the secretariat staff for the work they have done and the support they give us.
