The new violations occurred on 6 May 1998, when two F 16 fighter aircraft of the Turkish Air Force entered the Nicosia flight information region at 1011 hours from a north westerly direction, violated the national airspace of the Republic of Cyprus north of the town of Kyrenia and exited the Nicosia flight information region at 1028 hours.

These new violations occurred on 18 May 1998, when four F 4 fighter aircraft of the Turkish Air Force entered the Nicosia flight information region at 1139 hours from a northeasterly direction and violated the national airspace of the Republic of Cyprus, flying over the Cape of Apostle Andreas and exiting the Nicosia flight information region at 1144 hours.

In the afternoon of the same day six Turkish military aircraft entered the northern Nicosia flight information region in violation of international air traffic regulations.
