In the meantime, both party establishments have reason to be nervous. With Sanders now polling well ahead of Clinton in New Hampshire, serious commentators have begun speculating that Americans will ultimately be asked to choose between Sanders and Trump.

Bernie Sanders the socialist and Donald Trump the plutocrat are addressing much the same impulse. Speaking in clear, declarative sentences, Sanders sets forth an idealistic conception of government policy that appeals to a great many people on the growing left of the Democratic Party.

Some reporters would contest that assertion Sanders has not held a White House press briefing since 10 September.

When I described Chris Sanders' non paper as an informal derivation of the five Ambassadors' proposal, I did so advisedly.

We also have noted the proposals contained in the non paper proposed by Ambassador Chris Sanders entitled Food for thought .

And quite frankly, I think if Colonel Sanders was to be careful how he worded it, he could actually advertise an extra piece.

Other high profile Democratic names discussed in regard to a potential 2020 run include former Vice President Joe Biden and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

This will require mutual flexibility, fostered, as I noted on 22 February when echoing Chris Sanders' wise words, by maximum transparency on all sides.

Bernie Sanders, a self described socialist, inspires enthusiasm. Sanders is riding the leftist wave in Democratic politics, and while many of his proposals may not be able to stand up against hard questioning (how, for example, would he fund his plan to make college tuition free for everyone?), he has so far managed to avoid any serious challenge to them.

The group cited incidents such as racial slurs against black students at the University of Missouri and the death of Tory Sanders, 28, a black man from Tennessee.

Sanders said the scarcity of briefings was not due to a distaste for TV reporters grandstanding, although she said I won't disagree with the fact that they grandstand.

Firstly, the initiative presented by Ambassador Chris Sanders, the  food for thought document, which puts forward interesting procedural and substantive proposals with the aim of breaking the current impasse.

Briefings will still happen, Sanders said, but if the press has the chance to ask the president of the United States questions directly, that's infinitely better than talking to me.

So, you know, I realized when I was there, General Tso is kind of a lot like Colonel Sanders in America, in that he's known for chicken and not war.

I want to begin by thanking our Secretary General and my predecessor, Ambassador Chris Sanders for their support and for their success in delivering such a worthwhile high level segment this year.

Sanders died under questionable circumstances earlier this year after he ran out of gas while traveling through the state, and was taken into custody by Missouri police without being accused of a crime.

We have indicated that the food for thought paper presented by Ambassador Sanders would be a good basis for discussion in order to lead us to the adoption of a programme of work.

The food for thought paper presented during the presidency of Ambassador Chris Sanders, which was further developed during the presidency of Ambassador Tim Caughley, represents brave efforts to take us out of the present stalemate.

More important, what a militant faction did to the Labour Party is being done now not to the Democrats, but to the Republicans. Indeed, the Republican rebels look far more extreme than Corbyn, let alone Sanders.

By contrast, Jeb Bush and the Democrats presumed nominee, Hillary Clinton, embody traditional politics. Both come across as focus grouped, packaged, and cautious, whereas Trump and Sanders are seen by their followers as telling it like it is.

By contrast, former Secretary of State and Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton and a leading Republican contender, Donald Trump, have opposed reform of Social Security and Medicare. Senator Bernie Sanders, Clinton s Democratic rival, actually proposes to expand the programs unfunded liabilities.

We consider that this work in the Conference on Disarmament can be carried out on the basis of the mandate set out in the five Ambassadors' proposal and the informal food for thought paper circulated by Ambassador Sanders of the Netherlands.

The Prize Fund for HIV AIDS Act, a congressional bill introduced by Senator Bernie Sanders, is just such an initiative. His bill also contains an important provision aimed at encouraging open source research, which would move the current research model away from secrecy toward sharing.

In my statement, I will quite naturally draw on the statement made by the European Union as delivered in New York by Ambassador Chris Sanders of the Netherlands at the fifty ninth session of the General Assembly of the United Nations on 19 October 2004.

Finally, while we have been striving in the Disarmament Conference to translate into operational terms the priority which my country attaches to the commencement of negotiations, my delegation considers that the most recent formulation contained in the food for thought paper proposed by Ambassador Chris Sanders requires further development.

As the author of the food for thought paper, Ambassador Sanders, told the CD in his valedictory remarks last week, the food for thought paper may need some amendment, and I think he may have had in mind an explicit without preconditions dimension to the start of FMCT negotiations.

For America, the Sanders bill marks important progress. For the world, the WHO s recommendations represent a once in a generation opportunity to remedy a long standing and egregious inequity in health care, and, more broadly, to set a model for governance of global public goods befitting an era of globalization.

In recent opinion polls, her main opponent, Bernie Sanders, who proudly calls himself a socialist, is edging ever closer to Clinton and is actually leading her in some states. Like Corbyn, he has the air of authenticity a politician who says what he thinks, unlike the scripted professionals of mainstream Washington.

Based on this principle, we are ready to participate in discussions within the CD to consider whether the existing space treaties are sufficient and to explore what kind of further measures might be employed under some kind of practical and flexible formula, including the initiative of Ambassador Sanders of the Netherlands.

And I cannot emphasize enough how grateful I am for the manner in which Chris Sanders, through his efforts in offering us a possible way forward through his subtle, informal, untabled derivation of the five Ambassadors' proposal, has underpinned a further intensification of the focus on finding a way through the CD's impasse.

She seems packaged and cautious, slow to get around to a position on some key issues, such as trade, that divide Democrats. For the moment, however, nobody can predict whether Sanders will be able to convert the impressive crowds he has been drawing into electoral strength, or even how long he will remain in fashion.
