The additional amount requested is therefore reduced to 4,548,900 gross ( 4,171,700 net).

The aggregate amount, based on the recommendations contained in paragraph 104 of the report, is as follows

Approves a gross appropriation for UNIFEM in the amount of 16 374 400.

The net additional resources requested by UNFICYP amount to 1,898,800 gross ( 2,119,500 net).

3. Resolves that, for the biennium 2004 2005, the amount of 255,909,500 United States dollars gross (231,506,500 dollars net) approved in its resolution 59 273 for the budget of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda shall be adjusted by the amount of 3,307,300 dollars gross (3,875,900 dollars net) for a total amount of 252,602,200 dollars gross (227,630,600 dollars net).

5. Resolves that, for the biennium 2006 2007, the amount of 277,127,700 United States dollars gross (254,757,400 dollars net) approved in its resolution 61 241 for the financing of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda shall be adjusted by the amount of 2,384,700 dollars gross (2,357,200 dollars net), for a total amount of 279,512,400 dollars gross (257,114,600 dollars net)

Resolves that, for the biennium 2004 2005, the amount of 329,317,900 United States dollars gross (298,437,000 dollars net) approved in its resolution 59 274 for the budget of the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia shall be adjusted by the amount of 21,012,700 dollars gross (21,962,900 dollars net) for a total amount of 308,305,200 dollars gross (276,474,100 dollars net).

Resolves that, for the biennium 2004 2005, the amount of 329,317,900 United States dollars gross (298,437,000 dollars net) approved in its resolution 59 274 for the budget of the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia shall be adjusted by the amount of 21,012,700 dollars gross (21,962,900 dollars net) for a total amount of 308,305,200 dollars gross (276,474,100 dollars net).

Resolves that, for the biennium 2002 2003, the amount of 203,962,600 United States dollars gross (182,870,700 dollars net) approved in its resolution 57 289 of 20 December 2002 for the budget of the International Tribunal for Rwanda, shall be adjusted by the amount of 4,517,100 dollars gross (4,392,200 dollars net) for a total amount of 208,479,700 dollars gross (187,262,900 dollars net).

3. Resolves that, for the biennium 2006 2007, the amount of 326,573,900 United States dollars gross (297,130,500 dollars net) approved in its resolution 61 242 for the financing of the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia shall be adjusted by the amount of 22,405,400 dollars gross (19,062,200 dollars net), for a total amount of 348,979,300 dollars gross (316,458,000 dollars net)

As at 31 December 2004, expenditures incurred by UNMIK amount to 167,106,500 gross ( 155,809,800 net).

13. Decides further that the financing of the appropriation for 2001 under the Special Account shall also take into account an amount of 4,237,100 dollars gross (3,851,900 dollars net), being the estimated unencumbered balance as at the end of 2000, which shall also be set off against the aggregate amount of the appropriation, as detailed in the annex to the present resolution

Developing countries in the aggregate were running a large current account surplus in 2004, equivalent to 2 per cent of their gross domestic product (GDP).

4. Resolves that, for the biennium 2002 2003, the amount of 262,653,700 United States dollars gross (235,955,000 dollars net) approved in its resolution 57 288 of 20 December 2002 for the budget of the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia shall be adjusted by the amount of 25,668,500 dollars gross (18,803,200 dollars net) for a total amount of 288,322,200 dollars gross (254,603,800 dollars net).

The amount proposed, in gross terms, represents an increase of 29,132,900, or 24 per cent ( 26,890,200 in net terms), over the total amount approved for the period from 1 July 2004 to 30 June 2005 of 121,610,300 gross ( 105,237,900 net).

The net requirements for the initial phase of UNOTIL would therefore amount to 7,491,600 gross ( 6,399,300 net).

The difference between gross and net emoluments is requested as a global amount under the present section.

20. Resolves that, for the biennium 2002 2003, the amount of 197,127,300 dollars gross (177,739,400 dollars net), approved in its resolution 56 248 B for the budget of the International Tribunal for Rwanda, shall be adjusted by the amount of 4,657,600 dollars gross (4,254,100 dollars net) arising for ad litem judges in respect of Security Council resolution 1431 (2002) for a total amount of 201,784,900 dollars gross (181,993,500 dollars net)

8. Resolves that, for the biennium 2002 2003, the amount of 248,926,200 dollars gross (223,169,800 dollars net), approved in its resolution 56 247 B for the budget of the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, shall be increased by 13,727,500 dollars gross (12,785,200 dollars net), for a total amount of 262,653,700 dollars gross (235,955,000 dollars net)

Total estimated requirements for the next six month period amount to 131,292,800 gross ( 119,953,100 net), resulting in total revised requirements of 298,399,300 gross ( 275,762,900 net) for the 12 month period.

The detail aggregate amount of important items in the statements shall be mutually checked with the separate amounts of corresponding items in the statements.

Approves the gross budget for the Joint Inspection Unit for the biennium 2008 2009 in the amount of 11,633,000 dollars

In previous bienniums, the gross amount was requested by the Fund, with one sixth being reimbursed by the United Nations.

(a) Approve the budget for the United Nations Political Office for Somalia in the amount of 5,017,400 net ( 5,394,600 gross)

After the addition of income in the amount of 184,000, the initial revised appropriation amounts to 329,501,900 gross ( 298,437,000 net).

The second performance report shows a net reduction in requirements, by 21,962,900, to the amount of 308,305,200 gross ( 276,474,100 net).

Additional non post resources proposed for the biennium 2006 2007 amount to 92,588,300 gross, before recosting, broken down as follows

Approves the gross budget for the International Civil Service Commission for the biennium 2008 2009 in the amount of 17,777,000 dollars

The estimated requirements for the Office of the Special Representative in the biennium 2006 2007 would amount to 3,499,900 gross ( 3,042,300 net).

15. Decides to appropriate the amount of 450 million dollars gross (422,053,500 dollars net) for the maintenance of the Mission for the period from 1 July 2000 to 30 June 2001, inclusive of the amount of 220 million dollars gross (207,407,400 dollars net) authorized by the General Assembly in its resolution 54 245 B

Approves gross appropriations in the amount of 209.0 million for the purposes indicated below and resolves that the income estimates of 12.6 million will be used to offset the gross appropriations, resulting in estimated net appropriations of 196.4 million

Of that amount, 920,000 gross ( 800,000 net) pertained to the provision for maintaining the operations of the Office of the Special Representative in 2005.

The review covered the overall implementation of the capital master plan and nine contracts executed in 2004 for an aggregate amount of 12.4 million for the design development phase.

The total additional requirements requested by UNCIFYP amount to 4,464,600 gross ( 4,685,300 net), including 3,755,100 gross ( 3,975,800 net) resulting from the modified cost parameters and 709,500 for the cost of the emergency construction project during the 2004 05 financial period.

The General Assembly, in its resolution 59 284 B of 22 June 2005, appropriated for UNFICYP the amount of 46.5 million gross ( 44.1 million net).

The resource requirements for the expanded operation of UNPOS for the period from 1 June to 31 December 2005 amount to 5,017,400 net ( 5,394,600 gross).

The General Assembly, by its resolution 59 274, approved a revised appropriation for the biennium 2004 2005 in the amount of 329,317,900 gross ( 298,437,000 net).

The report contains the proposed resource requirements for UNOTIL for the period from 21 May to 31 December 2005, which amount to 22,027,700 (23,890,200 gross).

Aggregate economic developments

The additional total requirements for the expanded operation of UNPOS for the period from 1 June to 31 December 2005 amount to 5,394,600 gross ( 5,017,400 net).
