I want to talk about what we learn from conservatives.

I'm not talking about that only conservatives go to church.

And the second great thing about conservatives they get ecology.

Conservatives, on the other hand, speak for institutions and traditions.

Conservatives have more of a five foundation, or five channel morality.

This is partly because Liberals have usually thrived by winning seats from Conservatives when Conservative administrations are unpopular. Conservatives, for their part, think of Liberals as combining sanctimoniousness with hard ball electoral tactics.

And now we get to the crux of the disagreement between liberals and conservatives.

Now I'm not saying for a minute that British Conservatives have all the answers.

I'm progressive, politically big surprise but I've always gone out of my way to meet conservatives.

And so I was surprised when I noticed one day that the conservatives had disappeared from my Facebook feed.

They want to regulate us, those conservatives, to stop us from allowing the market to spread in those places.

And it's happening everywhere, among liberals and conservatives, agnostics and believers, the rich and the poor, East and West alike.

On the left, I've plotted the scores for liberals on the right, those for conservatives in the middle, the moderates.

Labour peer Lord Adonis mocked the Conservatives for the security issues they suffered with a party app as the conference opened.

It really is a fact that liberals are much higher than conservatives on a major personality trait called openness to experience.

So, you might say, OK, there are these differences between liberals and conservatives, but what makes those three other foundations moral?

Add to this the rise of populist and nationalist parties in Britain, partly a consequence of the political and economic alienation that have resulted from globalization and economic troubles, and Labour and the Conservatives are fighting over dwindling support. The latest polls indicate 34 support for Labour, and 32 for the Conservatives.

Western conservatives are no less prone to creative destruction than Western liberals conservatives, indeed, are well known for inventing traditions. Take the 19th century British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli, who invented most of the supposedly ancient traditions around the British monarchy. Innovation in the West seems to be a never ending, self transforming process.

The problem for American conservatives is not their choice of candidates or the tone of their rhetoric. It is that their ideas are not politically sustainable.

There, leading politicians who choose to call themselves fiscal conservatives such as Paul Ryan, now the Republican Party s presumptive vice presidential nominee to run alongside presidential candidate Mitt Romney in November s election care more about cutting taxes, regardless of the effect on the federal deficit and total outstanding debt. Why do US fiscal conservatives care so little about government debt, relative to their counterparts in other countries?

The political danger for the Conservatives is that they are misjudging public sentiment. Perhaps voters have just as much of a problem with foreigners as they do with freeloaders.

Perhaps an alliance between Conservatives and Liberals the two parties ostensibly farthest apart in their views confounded everyone out of their certainties. This in itself may be no bad thing.

That scheme is both absurd and dangerous. After all, the word Weimar draws its infamy from the pact with the devil that German conservatives and royalists made by backing Hitler.

It is unresolved because the scientific question has always been entangled with politics. Broadly speaking, those stressing inborn capacity have been political conservatives those emphasizing nurture have been political radicals.

They give high endorsement of these sorts of statements all across the board, but as you also see, liberals care about it a little more than conservatives the line slopes down.

Given their policy objectives, conservatives should support a well crafted federal infrastructure program, and liberals should support corporate tax reform. But changes in the political process would help move matters ahead.

But many conservatives also oppose his economic policies, as well as his management style. Conservative voices have repeatedly argued that supporting Ahmadinejad will cost them votes and reinforce the economic crisis.

For decades, political debate in Europe focused largely on economic institutions and policies. Conservatives argued for a private sector driven economy, unfettered markets, low taxes, reduced government spending, and limited public goods.

But the coalition negotiated by David Cameron s Conservatives with the third place Liberal Democrats (which should give the government a comfortable majority in Parliament) is not so novel as some people think.

But the thing I want you to think about when we think about conservatives not so much this issue of the 1980 convention the thing to think about is this They go to church.

If you're conservative, and you learn that a dog's extremely loyal to its home and family, and doesn't warm up quickly to strangers, for conservatives, well, loyalty is good dogs ought to be loyal.

The infighting among conservatives and within the IRGC increased in the last few days before the election. And, with Rowhani s surprising first round victory and Khamenei s refusal to endorse either candidate both IRGC factions lost.

In the past, politicians of the left often came from the trade unions, while conservatives were rich businessmen or landowners. Social classes had their own interests, which were represented by parties divided by clear ideological differences.

Whether it is conservatives like Sarkozy, Christian Democrats like Merkel, right wing populists like Berlusconi, or socialists like Zapatero, political affiliation appears to make no difference. If you hold office in Europe nowadays, you are in trouble.

That is an argument around which all conservatives should be able to rally. After all, the emergence of global megabanks was not a market outcome these banks are government sponsored and subsidized enterprises, propped up by taxpayers.

So once you see this once you see that liberals and conservatives both have something to contribute, that they form a balance on change versus stability then I think the way is open to step outside the moral matrix.

What the Conservatives did succeed in doing, and doing brilliantly, was to persuade English people that they were only cleaning up Labour s mess, and that, but for austerity, Britain would have gone the way of Greece exactly Ferguson s view.

First, as in many other democracies, support for the United Kingdom s two main political parties is declining. When I first became interested in politics, nearly 50 years ago, Labour and the Conservatives attracted some 90 of the popular vote.

In fact, social democrats were regarded as more dangerous than hard line conservatives, because their moderate left wing talk only served to postpone the revolution. This kind of thinking helped the Nazis destroy German democracy in the 1930 s.

American conservatives argue that a large public sector is subject to inefficiency and mismanagement, corruption, and bureaucratic abuse, while the taxation needed to support it blunts economic efficiency. But each of these propositions is refuted by the Nordic experience.

The Nordic experience also belies conservatives claim that a large social welfare state weakens incentives to work and save. National saving in the Nordic countries averages more than 20 of national income, compared to around 10 in the US.

While those attracted to the Tea Party movement are a diverse group, some common themes emerge. They see a struggle for the soul of the Tea Party between true libertarians, who are worried about individual liberties, and traditional conservatives.

But the agreement between the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats to form a coalition government does look revolutionary to many British voters. In London, governing arrangements that other countries take for granted look like a radically new type of politics.
