Action The COP MOP will be invited to take note of any decision adopted at COP 11 on the date and venue for COP 12.

A welcoming ceremony would be held to mark the opening of COP 11 and COP MOP 1 on Monday, 28 November Following the welcoming ceremony, the President of COP 10 would open COP 11.

The possible elements for COP 11 have been modelled on the provisional agendas for recent COP sessions.

By its decision 23 COP.6, the COP requested the Executive Secretary to report to the COP at its seventh session on the status of the trust funds established under the financial rules of the COP.

Work on many of these issues was concluded by the COP at its seventh session, and are contained in the Marrakesh Accords however, additional work on some issues continued at COP 8, COP 9 and COP 10, resulting in the preparation of additional draft decisions for adoption by the COP MOP at its first session, as well as modifications by the COP to previously prepared draft decisions.

Decision 17 CP.9 includes a recommended draft COP MOP decision which states that credentials from Parties to the Kyoto Protocol would apply for the participation of their representatives in sessions of the COP and the COP MOP, and a single report on credentials would be submitted for approval, following established procedures, by the Bureau of the COP to the COP and to the COP MOP.
