(a) Cities Alliance is a global alliance of cities and their development partners committed to improving the living conditions of the urban poor.

Poverty was the symptom of a global environment plagued by inequality, and the fight against poverty required a global alliance based on shared responsibility, cooperation and solidarity.

And currently I'm president of Global Research Alliance, 60,000 scientists in nine counties, right from India to the U.S.

For a half century, the US Japan alliance has been a cornerstone of Asian and global peace, security, and stability and Japan has been an outstanding global citizen.

UNICEF is a founding partner and co sponsor of the Partnership for Maternal Newborn and Child Health, the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization, Roll Back Malaria, the Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases, UNAIDS, the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition and the Food Fortification Initiative.

That is why my Government will contribute 240 million over the next 20 years to the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization.

UNEP and the Japan based Global Sports Alliance organized a sports summit for the environment at EXPO 2005, Aichi, Japan, on 30 and 31 July 2005.

Cities Alliance is a global partnership created to test new tools and practical approaches to promote local economic development in a direct attack on urban poverty.

In the current global situation, no predictable conflict will require the use of a nuclear weapon. At the moment, there is no global threat and the Alliance only intervenes in regional conflicts, so why not have NATO admit this?

It mobilized support from partners, including the International Olympic Committee and Global Sports Alliance, to provide equipment and basic training to over 6,500 children in the Nairobi Camp.

While it was essential to strengthen North South cooperation, particularly through the United States Agency for International Development's Global Development Alliance, El Salvador would continue to support South South cooperation.

There had also been progress on innovative sources of financing, including plans by the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization for the International Finance Facility and by the French, Brazilian and Chilean Governments for a global solidarity fund financed from airline tickets.

The application and review process for support from the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) has helped to broaden the work of national inter agency coordinating bodies in eligible countries.
