One may wonder whether today s highly competitive, funding starved scientific atmosphere, in which publications and citations have become a primary criterion for success, can accommodate such mistakes. The simple answer is yes.

By 2002, the financial sector accounted for a 62 per cent share, a reflection of Singapore's competitive role as an international financial centre in the global economy.

Despite potentially playing complementary roles in fostering competitive markets and safeguarding consumer welfare, the different approaches employed and different perspectives held by competition policy and sector regulation can be a source of friction.
