And I thought, How could I not have known this before?

So, before I got here, I thought, You know, I am from North America.

I had never before thought of myself as a creative person.

I just thought, and I thought long and hard.

I then thought it would be years before we'd be able to make it really, really useful.

I thought everybody thought in pictures.

And indeed, in the short time I've already been at TED, I see we're even closer than I thought we were before.

But, you know, before I get too far into condemning our ancestors, I thought I'd show you this is my conference room.

Never would India have thought on this scale before.

I think this is, obviously, substantially different from anything we'd ever thought about doing before, just by the nature of it.

So, I thought complexity was attacking me suddenly, so I thought, Ah, simplicity. Very important.

And I thought about my dad, and I thought, Good God, I'm so not Sue now.

And I thought, Great.

I thought you knew.

Anyway he thought he'd better do it, because I never met him before and he might lose face if he hadn't done the thing I sent him.

I was 27. I thought I knew everything.

I went outside what I thought I knew.

Now I, of course, thought, Well this is American data, and I thought, Well, those silly Americans.

And I thought, What am I thinking?

And I thought, I should patent this.

I thought, okay, I will go out.

I thought I must tell you this.

I thought I kind of offended them.

I thought I would spend 20 bucks.

I thought I knew what fear was.

At first, I thought I was sick.

I thought I had all the answers.

I asked because I thought you knew.

Before now, when you thought of a city, you thought of crowded streets, parking problems, traffic jams, queues, noise and fumes.

I thought it was true.

I thought, my career's over.

I thought that was it.

I thought, oh my gosh.

And I thought, go figure.

And I thought, Well, hey!

I thought he would come.

That's what I thought too.
