In a letter to the High level Coordinator dated 5 May 2005, the Permanent Representative of Kuwait to the United Nations confirmed that on 26 February 2005, Kuwait Airways Corporation had received two 20 cubic foot containers shipped by Iraqi Airways Corporation with spare parts and furniture.

The purpose of the mission led by Ambassador Vorontsov was to ascertain the presence of spare parts belonging to the Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC) reported to be on board the Iraqi Airways Company's (IAC) aircraft stationed in Tunisia, and to facilitate the return of these spare parts to Kuwait.
