Coal and natural gas are natural fuels.

Growth in shale energy will mean more investment, production, and jobs in the energy sector itself. Lower gas prices will boost manufacturing production, particularly in downstream industries like petrochemicals and primary metals that use natural gas as fuel and feedstock.

But when you look at the natural gas we have it could very well be the bridge to natural gas, because you have plenty of natural gas.

Do we have enough natural gas?

We are overwhelmed with natural gas.

The main natural resources are natural gas, coal, salt and iron.

Just ten years ago, the natural gas industry was so sure that domestic production was reaching its limit that it made large investments in terminals to import liquefied natural gas (LNG). Yet fracking has increased supply so rapidly that these facilities are now being converted to export LNG.

Natural gas will fit all of those.

And so the margin is natural gas.

Moreover, natural gas also heats buildings. As the graph below shows, it now accounts for 31 of overall primary energy production, surpassing coal, at 26 , while for solar and wind combined account for just 2 .

In 2004, overall real growth in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which in 2003 had been 6.6 per cent, was only 4.7 per cent, largely because of high oil and natural gas production and revenues.

How in the hell can we get off the natural gas at some point?
