The Act of 17 October 1991 concerning pensions indexation, principles of pensions calculation and amendment of certain Acts (Dziennik Ustaw No. 104, Text 450, with further amendments)

Long term social security pays retirement pensions and old age pensions, invalidity pensions, survivor apos s pensions, civil invalidity pensions, military invalidity pensions and social pensions.

The Act provides for two types of funded pensions mandatory funded pension and supplementary funded pension (I and II pillar).

Increase in and adaptation of the parameter for the updating of pensions awarded under the Act in force until 30 June 1997 to that of the Act now in force, i.e., approval of the parameter for pension increases in both regimes so that all pensions will be updated in line with the national consumer price index.

In Denmark, older people and people with a reduced working capacity, etc. are provided for by way of assistance granted under the Social Pensions Act.

(a) Ordinary child allowance is payable to single parents and to parents who are both in receipt of a pension under the Social Pensions Act.

The old age pensions may be drawn as full pensions or partial pensions (one third, one half or two thirds of the full pension).

The disability pensions are indexed in the same manner as all other state pensions.

Disability pensions and survivor apos s pensions are paid from the Social Insurance Fund.

Pensions are subject to indexation on the basis of rules applicable to the whole system of pensions.

The decision on pensions was taken after an in depth analysis of pensions at six duty stations.

Act. No. 30 of 26 December 1991 adopted amendments to Decree No. 14 which violated beneficiaries apos acquired rights in the area of old age pensions and disability benefits.

(c) Supplements to the basic pensions

216. Disability pensions and survivor apos s pensions with respect to employment related accidents or occupational diseases are calculated in the same way as pensions payable as a result of other events.

Furthermore, a child may qualify for the special allowance if one or both parents are in receipt of a pension under the Social Pensions Act and in some other cases.

Under the pension adjustment system, the dollar pensions and, if applicable, the local currency pensions, were adjusted on an annual basis on 1 April.
