The 2005 budget proposal foresees revenues in the amount of 53.77 million and expenditures of 50.86 million, resulting in a projected net income of 2.91 million.

As at the end of June 2006, a 1.7 million increase in general purpose income is projected, compared with March 2006, while further efforts are ongoing.

The proposed budget for the biennium 2006 2007 is predicted on a projected total income from voluntary sources of 206.4 million (base income scenario), comprising 154.9 million for the drug programme and 51.5 million for the crime programme.

With respect to income that offsets the gross budget, an increase of 1 million is projected, from 70 million in 2004 2005 to 71 million in 2006 2007.

Total regular resources income from all sources for 2005 is projected to be 815 million, with the level of government regular resources contributions in line with financial plan estimates.

The Committee notes from table 1 that the projected regular resource income has grown from 586.6 million in the 2004 2005 biennium to 747.0 for the 2006 2007 biennium.

UNICEF internal liquidity guidelines recommend a year end regular resources convertible cash balance equal to at least 10 per cent of projected regular resources income for the following year.

13.15 Miscellaneous income for the biennium 2006 2007 is currently projected at SwF 470,000, which is in line with the estimate of SwF 471,000 for the biennium 2004 2005.

The total level of income of the Foundation in the current biennium (1996 1997) is projected at 28,203,125, which includes a non convertible currency (NCC) component equivalent to 335,400.
