The Conference had before it a note prepared by the secretariat in response to decisions RC 1 9 and RC 1 12 on arrangements by the Executive Director of UNEP and the Director General of FAO for performance of the secretariat functions for the Convention (UNEP FAO RC COP.2 14). In early 2004, WFP had five staff in the pool of RC candidates, two of whom were women.
