Coral reef protection is being promoted through the creation of protected areas, emphasizing indigenous and customary practices relating to harvesting and fishing, and regulating other fishing and shipping practices.

There was no fishing, there was no pollution, there was no coastal development, and the reef is on a full bore recovery.
