You, today, buy gasoline miles.

They'd run ethanol or ordinary gasoline.

And it's 2.4 billion gallons of gasoline wasted.

The experience of filling these vehicles tanks is curious. Just before entering a gas station, Brazilian drivers calculate whether conventional gasoline or ethanol is cheaper (bioethanol has 30 less energy content than traditional gasoline), then choose between a gasoline and an ethanol pump.

That's cheaper than today's gasoline, even in the U.S.

Europe has solved it. They just put a tax on gasoline.

This is gasoline consumption in all of these countries. And us.

There is a good chance that gasoline prices will go up.

This car can go thirteen kilometers for every liter of gasoline.

But our cars are actually going to be cheaper than gasoline cars.

Also, some countries have converted vehicles from gasoline and diesel to compressed natural gas (Ecuador, Iran, Peru, Thailand and others).

New hybrid automobiles, pioneered by Toyota, use both gasoline and electric power to boost gasoline efficiency by approximately two fold. A massive changeover to more fuel efficient vehicles would make a big difference, especially as the numbers of vehicles on the road soars in China, India, and other developing countries.

There have been a relatively large number of cartel cases and investigations in the petroleum sector, in particular that of petrol (gasoline).

Biofuels come in two forms biodiesel used as a fossil fuel diesel substitute and bioethanol used as a fossil fuel gasoline substitute.

Since this quantity is required by the government to be blended with gasoline, regardless of the price of ethanol, corn, or gasoline, the demand that it creates for corn is not at all responsive to the price of corn. In economic terms, such demand is highly inelastic the mandate must be met at any price.

With this whole sort of suite of policies, we could actually reduce our gasoline consumption or our oil consumption by 20 percent by 2020.

It is worth noting that, in May June 2005, flexi fuel vehicle sales in Brazil overtook sales of gasoline cars for the first time.
