The scope of the Code of Conduct for the Safety and Security of Radioactive Sources was expanded from radiological safety to include radiological security.

200. Concerning working conditions, the Labour Code contains provisions on health and safety in the workplace.

In this spirit, Israel joined and played an active role in recent years in the deliberations of the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Materials, signed the Convention on Nuclear Safety, supported the IAEA Code of Conduct on the Safety of Research Reactors and endorsed the IAEA Code of Conduct on Safety and Security of Radioactive Sources.

In that connection, the IAEA Code of Conduct on the Safety and Security of Radioactive Sources was a welcome step.

Uruguay acceded to the IAEA Code of Conduct on the Safety and Security of Radioactive Sources of 25 February 2004.

The EU is pleased to note the approval of the IAEA's Code of Conduct on the Safety of Research Reactors.

49. There is a building code that includes provisions to meet earthquake and hurricane hazards and other public safety concerns.

The meeting encouraged early adherence to the guidelines in the IAEA Code of Conduct on the Safety and Security of Radioactive Sources.

It has also notified the Director General of IAEA of its acceptance of the Code of Conduct on the Safety and Security of Radioactive Sources.

Her Government was committed to observing the Code of Conduct on the Safety and Security of Radioactive Sources and encouraged other States to do likewise.

In particular, it should be noted that in November 1997, the twentieth session of the IMO Assembly adopted resolution A.853 (20), which amends the code on the safe carriage of irradiated nuclear fuel, plutonium and high level radioactive wastes in flasks on board ships (INF code), and in May 1998, the IMO Maritime Safety Committee approved amendments to the International Convention for Safety of Life at Sea that would make the code binding.

With a view to implementing the IAEA Code of Conduct on the Safety and Security of Radioactive Sources, appropriate changes were made in the legislative framework which regulates the requirements for the physical protection and safety of such sources.

(j) Welcome the adoption of the revised Code of Safety for Fishermen and Fishing Vessels and encourage its effective application, and urge States to become parties to the 1993 Protocol to the Torremolinos International Convention for the Safety of Fishing Vessels.

81. The obligations of establishments and workers in the field of occupational safety and health are determined in Part X Occupational safety and health of the Labour Code, as well as in Part I General provisions and Part IV Obligations of establishments and workers resulting from an employment relationship .

In 2003 the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) endorsed a Code of Conduct on the Safety of Radioactive Sources following a declaration of an Action Plan at the G8 Summit at Evian.

87. The draft amendment of Part X of the Labour Code also contains an important proposal concerning the appointment of occupational safety and health committees by employers employing more than 50 workers.
