The Chief of the Information Systems Unit supports the computer application systems that service the Fund's operations in the areas of financial services, client services, participation and separations, and also supports certain projects in the Investment Management Service.

In many other States, such systems are legitimate financial systems that have existed since long before the development of modern banking services.

This is based on the proven track record of UNICEF in ERP, IT systems and IT services implementations.

28G.24 The Information Technology Service is responsible for the administration of the communications infrastructure systems, including Internet services, at the United Nations organizations, and operation of the communication systems.

The services provided under this module will also focus on strengthening institutional structures for the provision of business information services, such as SME information systems and web based products.

Without secure land rights, farmers have little or no access to credit, rural organizations, irrigation systems and other agricultural infrastructure and services.

At the same time, Chinese officials understand that further progress toward a services led economic rebalancing will stall without the talent, systems, experience, and scale of global multinational services providers. And who better to provide what is needed than the US the world s largest and most competitive services economy.

Limited access to water, sewage systems and medical services, particularly in the north and the west, has led to a continued rise in diseases and malnutrition.

Strong health systems are required to ensure universal access to basic health services, including services to promote child and maternal health, to support reproductive health and to control killer diseases, such as AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria (see box 3).

Emergency infrastructure programmes implemented by UNDP covered a wide range of public services and municipal utilities, schools, hospitals, clinics, roads, sanitation systems and water treatment facilities.

Systems to record and monitor the access to treatment and prevention services by women, girls, children and vulnerable populations, including through sex disaggregated data, should be strengthened.

(b) Strengthen conformity assessment systems and services providing markets with the proof of, and confidence in, the conformity of the products in line with established specifications and market requirements

The ICT function seeks to add value to the internal and external partners and customers of UNICEF by providing secure, high quality information management systems, networks, services and support.

Fourth, existing national health care systems in wealthier countries can serve as models for emerging market economies that choose to adopt similar systems. Importantly, public finance need not mean only public delivery private hospitals and clinics can sometimes deliver services more effectively.

Sustainability and affordability of water supply services would also be enhanced by encouraging user participation in the construction of water systems, for example through in kind contributions.

Support to these complex specialized information systems will be provided by the Executive Office, given the fact that they fall outside the scope of the Information Technology Services Division of the Office of Central Support Services.

The Committee was informed that the transferred post was involved in the development of information technology systems for the Office of Internal Oversight Services.

Greater efforts, however, need to be made to strengthen data collection systems for the management of child welfare and protection services as well as for reporting and case referral.

The internal control systems and financial records are subject to reviews by the Office of Internal Oversight Services and the United Nations Board of Auditors during their respective audits.

Option two sees UNOPS as a full range service provider, catering to the wider United Nations system, international financial institutions and host governments, as per its current service provision mix, but with significant rationalization of systems and services, providing individual and multiple support services.

1.180 The mission of the Operational Technical Services Department (OTSD) is to sustain customers' service through creating synergy in the functions of the Agency's information systems, procurement, logistics and construction and engineering services, and to direct these services to achieve best value for money thereby contributing to UNRWA's mandate in providing humanitarian assistance to Palestine refugees.

In the case of energy efficiency, UNIDO adopts a systems based approach, which aims at optimizing the efficiency of the energy systems that factories use to deliver the services provided by electricity, gas and other fuels to the point of use in the plant.

These services comprise post harvest systems in the food sector, fibre processing, product innovation and diversification for enhanced market access, and enhancing rural community livelihood through efficient agro supply chains.

Material readiness, including SDS, systems contracts, services contracts and inter Mission transfers, has proved to be one of the key elements for developing such a rapid and effective deployment capability.
