They need us.

We need to inspire them, because they need to lead us and help us survive in the future.

They need to help us shop. They need to show us how to cook quick, tasty, seasonal meals for people that are busy.

We need to see what they can do for us.

But they don't quite cut it. They don't quite give us what we need.

We need to make them proud of being a farmer because they allow us to survive.

Or if they do have our interests at heart, we worry that they don't know us well enough to figure out what they need to do in order to allow us to secure those interests.

They don't need this. They need psychiatric help.

They need to be alive, they need to feed.

We need it to connect us all together.

All of us need to raise our game.

Most of us don t need to anymore, I suppose.

They need to look forward to exploration they need to look forward to colonization they need to look forward to breakthroughs.

They all need clean water, they need energy, they need transportation, and we want them to develop in a green way.

But computers, they can. They don't need coffee breaks, they don't need vacations, they don't need to go to sleep at night, they don't ask for raises either.

We require Helmut Kohl s understanding of the need to identify the big decisions in politics, and to get those decisions right. We need leaders with sufficient mastery of detail, like China s last premier Zhu Rongji, who can not only tell us how they will get us from A to Z, but can actually lead us from A to B.

We need to redefine what makes us secure in this world.

We don't need God or government telling us what to do.

We need to employ technology to assist us in this quest.

If anybody want to help us this is what we need.

And if things need to be improved, let us do it.

All of us need to be considered according to our real nature.

We all need help, even those of us who are very seasoned.

And for that I do not need an electric grid between us.

Of course, we need tools to assist us in recognizing that fact.

They need political solutions.

They need your compassion.

They need your empathy.

They need four things.

Would they surprise us? Would they intrigue us?

Adults and fellow TEDsters, you need to listen and learn from kids and trust us and expect more from us.

They do not need paternalism they need training of human capital and access to markets and technologies.

But we still need to bring a lot of people along with us.

We need you to tell us why you were absent all last week.

Awareness of the need for change is especially pronounced among all of us.

Does it arm us with the weapons we need to defend the defenceless?
