Feeding Young Minds

I'm talking about men with young minds, of course.

Also important is a reduction of the level of violence that is promoted in the entertainment industry, which influences young minds.

It has the potential to change the United Nations from an abstract notion in young people's minds into a genuine entity in the souls of countless young people throughout the world.

The strategy that has been outlined comprising global partnership, role models, shared narratives and focus on the hearts and minds of the young suggests a way forward.

And another key thing that I learned a lot throughout this whole process, last year Google named me as one of the brightest young minds in the world.

They make up their own minds and contribute to the unpredictability of modern elections. In that sense, too, an aging society adds to the responsibilities of the young.

In other words, the minds on the margin are not the marginal minds.

The extremists propagating this violence have networks of outreach to young people and know the power of education, whether formal or informal. Extremists are filling young minds with the belief that anyone who disagrees is an enemy and not just their enemy, but God s enemy.

We usually reckon that it is easier for young, unformed minds to handle changes like these. How does someone like me, at university in the early 1960 s, adapt and cope?

We own our minds.

They power our minds.

And so when we see another person, we reenact in our own minds what we see in their minds.

No, it's deep in our minds.

Also, our bodies change our minds.

What would happen to our minds?

Well, how often do people's minds wander?

All of us here have great minds.

You'll see these different kinds of minds.

And anyone who's ever been in a heterosexual relationship knows that the minds of men and the minds of women are not indistinguishable.

Perhaps there are other states that we can't access because of how our minds are structured but other minds possibly could access them.

And nobody minds that. We actively welcome it.

I can tap into thousands of people's minds.

And with our minds we can rationalize anything.

And it's not easy to change their minds.

The most important lesson they teach impressionable young minds is that it is acceptable to keep animals in captivity for human amusement. That is the opposite of the ethical attitude to animals that we should be seeking to impart to children.

What more can be done to encourage civil society and the private sector to increase their role in support of a culture of peace that must be rooted in the minds and hearts of people, and especially those of young people?
