The United Nations Declaration against Corruption and Bribery in International Commercial Transactions has played a pioneering role for the enactment of laws and regulations against bribery in international transactions, paving the way, inter alia, for the conclusion of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business Transactions.

The Office participates, with the status of permanent observer, in the Working Group on Bribery of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), which monitors implementation of the OECD Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business Transactions of 1997.

The Government indicated its intention to sign the OECD Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business Transactions and that it had engaged in dialogue with the OECD Investment Committee and the Multinational Enterprises Working Group on Bribery in International Business Transactions.
