The activities and staffing of the Centre have been reduced during the reporting period in an effort to operate the Centre within the available limited resources.

The effort was one of the most complex in the history of WFP, which spearheaded the coordination of logistics on behalf of the United Nations system through the Joint Logistics Centre.

We have also provided long standing support to the United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Africa, at Lomé, and we shall continue that effort.

In an effort to reinforce ECCAS capacities in the implementation of the Programme of Action, in September 2004, the Centre supported the organization of a workshop in Bujumbura, Burundi, sponsored by the Institute for Security Studies.

That's kind of too much effort.

It takes a human effort, a team effort, to bring the fish in.

The operational costs for a centre are tied to the value of work that will be carried out by that centre.

The Provisional Institutions have committed themselves to full cooperation in that effort and, on 28 January 2005, the Head of the Serbia and Montenegro Republic of Serbia Coordination Centre for Kosovo wrote to my Special Representative calling for a resumption of meetings of the working groups on missing persons and energy.

Any evaluation of the success of a centre must be made by comparing the results of the centre and the objectives of the original work plan.
