18. Logistics Base communications, electronic data processing and office equipment maintenance.

Non post requirements of 26,300, at the maintenance level, would cover communications ( 9,200) maintenance of office automation equipment ( 10,100) office supplies ( 3,400) and replacement of office automation equipment ( 3,600).

Non post requirements, at the maintenance level of 43,200, would cover communications ( 11,200) maintenance of office automation equipment ( 20,200) office supplies ( 3,300) and replacement of office automation equipment ( 8,500).

Provision is made in the amount of 234,700 for spare parts and supplies for routine maintenance and repair of satellite equipment ( 115,000), telephone equipment ( 19,700), radio microwave equipment ( 40,000), preservation materials ( 20,000) and start up kit maintenance ( 40,000).

The standard ratio for maintenance of communications equipment is 10 per cent of the standard cost of communications equipment.

The recorded expenditure relates to the purchase of spare parts, repairs and maintenance for (a) generators ( 449,900) (b) office equipment ( 241,200) (c) data processing equipment ( 41,700) (d) refrigeration equipment ( 15,500) (e) water purification equipment ( 172,700) (f) miscellaneous equipment, including air conditioners and fire safety equipment ( 158,100) and (g) maintenance fees for the Progen and Reality systems ( 7,300).

An amount of 14,300 has been included for spare parts, repair and maintenance of United Nations owned equipment, including office equipment, data processing equipment, generators and water purification equipment.

Miscellaneous services are estimated at 6,000 and include provisions for maintenance of office furniture and equipment ( 1,200), maintenance of electronic data processing equipment ( 3,300), hospitality ( 6,000) and other miscellaneous services ( 1,500).

(p) Maintenance of audio visual equipment ( 42,200). Provision is made under this heading to cover the cost of an annual systems contract for the necessary maintenance, repair and replacement of broken audio visual equipment, including equipment installed in the existing courtroom

acquisition and maintenance of office automation equipment, such as computers, laptops, printers and software. (Estimate is given on the assumption that the host Government will provide necessary computer equipment and related maintenance)

The budget provides for training on upgrading, maintenance and repair of technical equipment.

Based on this ratio, the maintenance cost for communications equipment would be 693,900.

6.13 The estimated requirements of 2,800 relate to maintenance of office automation equipment.

The estimate provides for spare parts repairs and maintenance for office equipment ( 6,000), electronic data processing equipment ( 9,000), generators ( 10,600), refrigeration equipment ( 3,000) and fuel tanks ( 10,000).

14.62 The amount of 696,400, at the maintenance level, provides for the continuation of three posts. Non post requirements, at the maintenance level of 33,800 would cover travel of staff ( 21,100) maintenance of office automation equipment ( 9,200) and replacement of data processing equipment ( 3,500).

68. Spare parts, repairs and maintenance. The unutilized balance of 600 was due to lower actual costs of equipment, spare parts and maintenance.

An amount of 19,300 provides for spare parts repairs and maintenance of office equipment ( 3,000), electronic data processing equipment ( 4,500), generators ( 5,300), refrigeration equipment ( 1,500) and fuel tanks ( 5,000).

14.25 Non post requirements for travel of staff ( 28,600), rental and maintenance of office and data processing equipment ( 60,300), communications ( 6,200), supplies and materials ( 6,400) and office automation equipment ( 15,100) are proposed at the maintenance level.

Training was provided at all the centres in maintenance of domestic equipment and food processing.
