Uganda had also mainstreamed human rights into the poverty eradication action plan, and civil society was also involved in the promotion and protection of human rights.

Calls upon States, the international community, international organizations, regional organizations, international financial institutions and regional development banks to support the implementation of the Action Plan on International Cooperation on the Eradication of Illicit Drug Crops and on Alternative Development by States affected by illicit crop cultivation to enable them to apply fully measures for drug eradication and sustainable alternative development

Encourages incorporation of micro credit schemes in the strategy of poverty eradication and implementation of related recommendations as reflected in the Plan of Action adopted in the Micro Credit Summit held in Washington from 2 4 February 1997.
