Sarkozy regards an EU economic government as a way to preserve his leadership in the EU beyond France s Council presidency, which is now ending. Although the Czech Republic will assume the EU presidency in January, this has not prevented the French President from convening a new EU summit under Sarkozy s leadership in the first half of 2009.

Presidency of the Council of Ministers

In July, the United Kingdom will assume the presidency of the European Union (EU).

The EU would submit its candidature for the presidency of the 2005 Conference in due course.

We would also like to associate ourselves with the statement made by the presidency of the European Union (EU).

In 2006, we will not hold the EU presidency, so we are likely to step down from the Bureau.

The research results will be presented in September 2004, during a two day European conference during the Netherlands EU Presidency.

The foreign ministers meeting held during Germany s EU Council presidency produced the Nuremberg Declaration, which established a framework for closer EU ASEAN partnership. Europe must become a stakeholder in Asia if both sides are to gain maximum benefit from cooperation and help shape the world of the future.

Italy, as a member of the European Union (EU) and as the holder of its presidency two years ago, when the revitalization process was initiated, recalls the role played by the EU and notes that many EU proposals are reflected in resolution 59 95.

The Supreme Council shall be headed by the country occupying the Presidency of the Community.

If he is able to return to New York, perhaps in January the current presidency of the Security Council would be happy to explore with the incoming presidency, Tanzania, whether they might consider holding such a meeting under their presidency.
