In July, the United Kingdom will assume the presidency of the European Union (EU).

Mr. Carvell (United Kingdom), speaking as a representative of the current holder of the presidency of the European Union (EU), said that the delegations of EU member States had held informal consultations on the queries that had been raised at the previous meeting regarding possible EU ratification of the draft convention.
