The Committee is especially concerned at discrimination against children of migrant workers and non citizens, and children born out of wedlock.

The Committee recommends that MSAR strengthen its efforts to provide free compulsory education to all school age children, including children of migrant workers.

Many children are unregistered at birth and information on child brides and migrant women difficult to obtain.

Participants stressed that the rights of young children, particularly those belonging to more vulnerable groups, such as disabled children, girls, children belonging to minority or indigenous groups, children of migrant workers, children placed in institutions, children living in poverty and children in foster care, were being infringed.

The right of migrant children to education and training was also guaranteed, since all children in Venezuela were allowed to continue their studies in the Bolivarian schools.
