56. The Office prepared a detailed comprehensive survey of human rights education and training programmes in the Kingdom of Cambodia with a view to Cambodia apos s participation in the United Nations Decade of Human Rights Education.

Each health education officer, attached to the office of the deputy provincial director, is assigned to cover and be responsible for the health education activities of two to three deputy directors of health services Ministry of Health units.

14. The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and several international and regional Decade partners, alone and in cooperation with the Office, have undertaken human rights education activities in the period under review.

25. In support of the efforts of the human rights treaty bodies in the area of human rights education, the Office is currently publishing the study entitled Human Rights Education and Human Rights Treaties, carried out in the period 1996 1997.

The project activities are realized in cooperation with the Skopje UNICEF Office, which financially supports the Education for All project.

Gender concepts and integration of gender perspectives into health policies and projects have been promoted among policymakers of all concerned ministries including Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Labour, Office of the Prime Minister and the Office of the Attorney General.

16. The Office has intensified its technical cooperation activities to strengthen national capacities in the field of human rights, including human rights education and public information.

The Office collaborated closely with UNICEF on the implementation of the United Nations Decade of Human Rights Education, 1995 2004, which will come to an end this year.

UNESCO's Cairo Office assisted the Education Students Society and Science and Math Education Centre of the American University in Beirut in organizing the eleventh annual Science, Math and Technology Fair on the weekend of April 16 18, 2004, at the American University of Beirut.
