In order to enhance the authority and role of the General Assembly, it is decided that

Freedom of circulation, enterprise, information, association and assembly, with due respect for the law, public order, and morals.

The General Committee may wish to recommend to the General Assembly that points of order be limited to five minutes.

Encourages in that regard country Parties to make voluntary contributions to the UNCCD Special Fund in order to ensure adequate implementation of General Assembly resolution 58 211.

Given the significance of the date, it would be appropriate for the President of the General Assembly to convene a special commemorative meeting of the United Nations General Assembly in the last 10 days of April 2006 in order properly to observe the twentieth anniversary of Chernobyl.

The Assembly also requested the Commission to analyse those reports in order to enhance the cooperative effort to combat the world drug problem.

Recognizing further that, in order to be fully utilized, the General Assembly must fully play its role as set out in the Charter,

Pursuant to General Assembly resolution 58 241, an open ended working group was established in order to negotiate an instrument on marking and tracing.

They must be presented to the National Assembly at its first convened meeting thereafter in order for them to be approved, amended or rejected.

5. Stresses that the participation of the Department in the revitalization of the General Assembly should focus on the timely provision of the documentation needed in order to facilitate the intergovernmental negotiation process

The working methods of the General Assembly need to be further rationalized in order to improve its efficiency and effectiveness and to make its outcomes more productive. Towards this end
