After more than 10 years of development since 2004, the service certification project in our country had gone through a process of developing from scratch. Some strides have been made in fulfilling the conditions for admission to the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme.

The Russian Federation, on behalf of the Kimberley Process, wishes to reaffirm the commitment to develop and improve the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme for Rough Diamonds, strengthen national certification systems and promote cooperation with the diamond industry in order to prevent the use of rough diamonds in funding conflicts.

Thirty six countries and one regional economic integration organization (the European Community) participating in the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) were represented at the Plenary.
