Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management

Sweden has ratified the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management.

The success of DDR programmes depended on a clear political will, a credible central authority to guide and secure the process, a broad process of national reconciliation, a comprehensive management process and sufficient skilled resources to support the process.

In order to identify the issues involved, a review process has been initiated by the Department of Safety and Security in consultation with the Office of Human Resources Management, the Office of Programme Planning, Budget and Accounts, the Department of Peacekeeping Operations and the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund.
