Work of the Monitoring Team

The present session provided an opportunity to work on those issues in a results oriented manner.

There will be many teams like our team that work on this.

So I quickly went to work with a great team around me.

We believe that we should continue to work towards creating a strong, functional, action oriented United Nations environmental organization.

Members of the Team have also made presentations on the work of the Team and the Committee to regional meetings in Asia and Africa.

As well as providing the Team with valuable ideas for its future work, the meeting demonstrated a shared enthusiasm among these States to work closely with the Security Council through the Committee and the Monitoring Team.

The work of the Committee at the current session could be characterized as having been substantively constructive, focused and action oriented.

Four projects were oriented towards work with selected persons of both genders on the development, promotion of gender, and the development of activities that would introduce gender comprehension into secondary schools.
