As India's own economy develops at about 8 per cent per year and its technological advancement comes of age, we are expanding our economic and technical cooperation with the developing countries, reinforcing our political solidarity.

The Division for the Advancement of Women and OHCHR will improve early information exchange and coordination on technical cooperation activities, in particular by sharing plans for such activities, and cooperate whenever possible in such activities.

The Knesset Committee for the Advancement of the Status of Women has continued its activities towards the advancement of the status of women.

SADC noted with appreciation the technical support it received from the Division for the Advancement of Women (DAW) and the constructive dialogue between the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women and the SADC member States.

The Division for the Advancement of Women would do its best to facilitate the Committee's work by helping States parties to meet their reporting obligations and, through its technical assistance programme, to implement the Convention at the national level.

The Division for the Advancement of Women of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs, is planning a technical assistance mission to Afghanistan in 2006 to provide specific guidance and support on the reporting and implementation of the Convention.
