The press release concerning the current meeting should therefore reflect the fact that the Committee had not endorsed the opinion contained in paragraph 8 of the Advisory Committee's report.

I also wish to emphasize, as I did at our informal meeting on 7 November 2005, the important role of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions and that of the Fifth Committee in this process.

The Advisory Committee recognizes the importance of mediation support.

The collaboration dates back to an OECD climate change meeting in 2000, when the Business and Industry Advisory Committee and the Trade Union Advisory Committee to the OECD agreed to jointly urge Governments to seek cooperation between ILO, OECD, the European Union and others (e.g. UNEP) to study the employment implications of climate change.

The Advisory Committee points out that the proposed independent audit advisory committee is to be an integral part of governance arrangements at the United Nations, which would include a previously established internal oversight committee.
