8.18 Pursuant to General Assembly resolution 58 269 of 23 December 2003, resources identified for the conduct of monitoring and evaluation would amount to 639,000, reflected under subprogramme 2 ( 65,900 is regular budget and 58,000 is extrabudgetary), subprogramme 3 ( 10,500 is regular budget) and subprogramme 4 ( 504,600 is regular budget).

8.6 The budget proposals reflect a comprehensive internal review of all subprogrammes, bearing in mind, inter alia, the requirements of regulation 5.6 of the Regulations and Rules Governing Programme Planning, the Programme Aspects of the Budget, the Monitoring of Implementation and the Methods of Evaluation.

The proposed programme budget for the biennium 2006 2007 is presented in accordance with the Regulations and Rules Governing Programme Planning, the Programme Aspects of the Budget, the Monitoring of Implementation and the Methods of Evaluation and the terms of General Assembly resolution 58 269.

It will be designed to provide high quality products to satisfy the need of the Mediterranean basin and other users for applications such as civil protection, environmental monitoring, disaster monitoring, agricultural monitoring, cartography and mapping, urban monitoring, coastal monitoring and hydrological resources monitoring.
