The current trend of high visibility direct support by States of the region, as noted by the Monitoring Group in the present report, is not new to Somalia.

For every trend on this planet, there's a counter trend.

The results are showing independent monitoring by the World Bank and other organizations show that in many instances the trend is downwards in terms of corruption, and governance is improving.

Although the indicators for monitoring the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals reveal a positive trend, progress has been uneven from the baseline year to the most recent indicators available.

During the mandate period, the investigations of the Monitoring Group did not reveal any major arms shipment by air, unlike a trend that was very common during the earlier days covered by the Panel of Experts.
