Systemic, cross institutional transparency, coordination and communication are needed to ensure progress on this standard.

To assist in the effort, the Global Compact Office, in collaboration with key partners, published the Practical Guide to Communication on Progress.

The Special Representative of the Secretary General has given such assurances to the Minister of Communication, but there has been no further progress on this issue.

To that end the Global Compact Office fully implemented during the past year its policy on communication on progress whereby corporate participants are required to submit annually a prominent communication outlining their implementation of the 10 principles or risk being identified as inactive on the Global Compact website.
